    • Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 26, 1942, and was discharged on January 3, 1946. During World War II, he was deployed to the South Pacific and served with the 132nd Combat Engineers.

      The birth certificate records his birth as November 9, 1921, while all other documents list it as November 8, 1921. It is assumed he was born on the 8th, with the birth records submitted to the county clerk's office on the 9th.
