  Her parents were John Anhalt and Elizabeth Dessloch. Olive was previously married to Herbert Kersten on 11 June 1918 until his death on 27 July 1954. They had one daughter, Ione Kersten, born in 1919. Olive was born without a middle name; however, her death certificate lists her middle name as “Kersten,” which was her first husband’s surname.
