  • Notes
    • Herman John Paas Jr. was a distinguished chemical and nuclear engineer. A graduate of Marquette University, he began his career with Dupont, working as a chemical engineer in Joliet, Illinois, and Richland, Washington. After receiving specialized training in nuclear engineering from Dupont, he worked in Radiation Protection from 1945 to 1963. He then joined the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) as a Radiation Specialist, serving in various locations, including Idaho Falls, Idaho; Denver, Colorado; and Arlington, Texas, until his retirement in 1977. After retiring, Herman and his wife Gertrude lived in Denver until 1983, when they relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Family notes show that Herman exchanged vows with Edith M Chadwick on August 8, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, no records were found, and no mention of Edith was in Herman's Obituary five years later, at his death.
